The changes in the turning structure of cosmetic packaging boxes. The basic paper packaging turning structure, that is, the structure of the edges, is horizontal or vertical folding. The modification of the edges can be completed through curved lines, diagonal lines, and cutting methods. This kind of structural change greatly increases the richness and diversity of packaging box structures, meeting the possibility of different product needs.
Broken line
In the basic form of paper packaging, the turning edges are straight lines. In the design of packaging boxes for irregular paper products, the edges can be transformed into curved lines, diagonal lines, or a combination of curved and diagonal lines, resulting in boxes that can present many unexpected shapes and styles. If the method of using arcs or a combination of arcs and diagonal lines is used to create the finished box, the three-dimensional shape presented from the front and side will be completely different, with a unique three-dimensional form and strong visual recognition. When designing, the author did not use the common top and bottom cover type paper box packaging for underwear packaging boxes on the market. Instead, the author used the curved lines on the edges to overlap the two spaces of the packaging box and the female body in the three-dimensional shape, combined with hand drawn watercolor patterns, creating a fun packaging box with openings at both ends. The underwear can be easily taken out by opening the cover, forming a shape on one paper with only one adhesive area. The main features of this design are simple production process and pleasant atmosphere, which can bring consumers a fresh and beautiful mood, enhance the fun and imagination space of the packaging box, and bring consumers a pleasant mood that traditional packaging boxes cannot compare with.
Cutting
There are usually two methods.
The first method is to symmetrically cut and connect the edges horizontally on both sides, and then push the originally protruding edges into the box to make the edges concave inward in sections, resulting in high and low undulations on the edges, which can increase the sense of form of the edges.
The second method is to cut on one side of the edge to depict an abstract or concrete form, maintaining the coherence of the edge lines. This cutting method is usually transported in the form of semi-finished products in a flat shape. During sales display, the cut form is peeled off from the original plane, forming a 90 degree angle with it. The cut part forms a hollow, and the inside of the box can be seen.
